One of the major themes of CES 2019 has been the growing competition between Amazon's  (AMZN) Alexa and Alphabet's (GOOGL) Google Assistant to be consumers' digital assistant of choice.

Both companies showed off plenty of new features and partnerships at CES, and Eric Jhonsa, TheStreet's tech columnist, was there in Las Vegas to soak it all in. Jhonsa was impressed by Google Assistant's offerings and integration with other services, and thinks it's well-positioned to catch up to Amazon in market share.
