Gold on Track to End a Presidential Election Week Lower, Bucking the Trend
Gold prices are bucking the trend this week.
Gold (GLD) - Get Report prices have traditionally risen during presidential election weeks, as was the case in 2012, 2008 and 2004. However, gold is on track to wrap up this week to the downside, bucking the trend, as investors were pleased with Trump's gracious attitude and united tone after his win. Analysts tell Kitco News editor-in-chief Daniela Cambone that the metal is likely headed higher - to $1,425 an ounce in 2017, up from its current price of $1,223. Plus, copper prices rose this week amid expectations that Trump would raise spending on infrastructure. TheStreet's Scott Gamm reports from Wall Street.
