GM veteran Mark Reuss, who is replacing Mary Barra as VP of Product Development as she moves to take the CEO position, says the job shuffle plays to each of their strengths and that they are "very aligned, vision-wise." Reuss says he worked closely with Barra and outgoing CEO, Dan Akerson, to steer GM through the past four years of rebuilding the company and the two have "a great relationship." Reuss says his goal in his new job is to leverage innovation in the supply base and to continue improving GM's customer service. As for the decline in December sales, Reuss was firm that GM will not follow competitors with big incentives to make sales. Reuss says that at the end of the day it's "all about product and pricing discipline."
