The biggest automakers posted declining October sales - and fewer selling days during the month made matters even worse. General Motors (GM) - Get Report posted a 1.7% drop in year-over-year auto sales in October to 258,626 vehicles, with growth in Buick sales and its Chevrolet Tahoe SUV. Toyota (TM) - Get Report sales fell 8.7% year-over-year to 186,295. Its hybrid Prius saw a 46.5% decline in sales, while its Tacoma pickup truck and Lexus SUVs saw single digit growth. Nissan reported a 2.2% decline in October sales year-over-year to 113,520 units, thanks to a surge in sales of its Armada and Murano SUVs. Fiat Chrysler (FCAU) - Get Report sales dipped 10% over the past year to 176,609 vehicles in October. A bright spot for the month was a 12% increase in Ram pickup trucks. Ford's (F) - Get Report auto sales report was not yet released amid a fire at its Michigan headquarters on Monday. TheStreet's Scott Gamm reports from Wall Street.
