GM, Ford and Fiat Chrysler All Report Sales Declines in January
Vehicle sales fell in January for many carmakers.
January was an overall down month for U.S. car sales, with the major automakers all reporting declines. Ford (F) - Get Report said sales of its cars and trucks fell 0.6% in January. That would have been steeper if it wasn't for sales gains in SUVs and trucks. General Motors (GM) - Get Report sales dropped 3.8% last month, and both Fiat Chrysler (FCAU) - Get Report and Toyota's (TM) - Get Report sales fell 11%.
Honda (HMC) - Get Report and Nissan (NSANY) had sales gains of 6% in January.
January's numbers come after strong sales in December.
