Giving Tuesday and Non-Profits Also Benefit From Omnichannel Presence
Software and services and data analytics are key components to many companies across all sectors, and they are just as important to non-profit organizations. Catherine LaCour of Blackbaud tells TheStreet’s Jill Malandrino the company powers the business of philanthropy. It supplies products focused on fundraising, website management, CRM, analytics, financial management, ticketing and electronic administration. Not only is Giving Tuesday is growing and philanthropic activity is on the rise. LaCour explains giving, in general, has grown over the past four years for the first time since the financial crisis. One third of giving happens in the last three months of the year, most of it in December. Blackbaud saw 90% growth on Giving Tuesday 2013 and the average online gift size increased to 40%. Just like retail, a big part of the growth was attributed to mobile transactions.
