German Court Blocks Credit Card Hacker's Extradition to the U.S.
A Turkish man accused of stealing almost $60 million from credit card companies will not be extradited to the U.S.
A Turkish man accused of stealing almost $60 million from credit card companies will not be extradited to the U.S. Germany's top court blocked the U.S summons after the man was arrested at Frankfurt airport back in 2013. The hacker is accused of masterminding a group that carried out the online attacks between 2011 and 2013. The group allegedly withdrew a large amount of money from prepaid credit cards after hacking into the computer network of the payment companies. The German court said it wishes to obtain assurance that the U.S. will not convict the man with a disproportionate sentence if he is convicted.
