General Motors' Chevrolet is readying production of its next-generation electric vehicle, based on the Bolt EV concept and announced plans on Thursday to build the vehicle at its Michigan plant, after debuting the car at the Detroit auto show last month. The Bolt electric vehicle can deliver about 200 miles of range in 50 states and has a target price of around $30,000 after federal incentives. TheStreet's Scott Gamm speaks with General Motors' executive vice president Alan Batey on the car's technology and whether now is the appropriate time to build a new electric vehicle, given the steep decline in crude prices.
