The number of people killed related to General Motor's (GM) faulty ignition switches is now at 19 and is expected to rise. Attorney Ken Feinberg, who's in charge of GM's program to compensate victims and their families has approved claims for those deaths. That's at least six more fatalities than the automaker officially linked to the faulty part. A total of 445 claims have been submitted so far for compensation including 125 death claims. The dollar amount awarded to victims and their families will vary. But those who are paid would have to agree not to sue General Motors. Claims are currently being accepted until December 31st. The 19 that have been approved are now waiting to hear on how much they'll be awarded.
