General Motors and Raytheon Partner With the U.S. Army for Soldier Job Placement
Texas has seen substantial job expansion, growing beyond its 2008 peak, according to the Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas. And the state is about to add more. Ken Barrett, Captain, U.S. Navy (ret) General Motors Chief Diversity Officer explains “Shifting Gears”, a partnership between GM, the Army and Raytheon, is a 12-week customized automotive technician training curriculum based in Fort Hood, Texas, that includes classroom, online and hands-on technical training that will help transitioning soldiers and create qualified technicians to help GM and local dealer communities.
