General Electric Shares Slip Ahead of Quarterly Results
Shares of General Electric (GE) - Get Report were slipping ahead of Friday's earnings announcement. Analysts are anticipating adjusted earnings of $0.45 a share on revenue of $31.86 billion. As the industrial giant looks to roll-out earnings before the opening bell Friday, Edward Jones analyst Jeff Windau says investors should be keeping a close eye on GE's transportation operations, which have disappointed shareholders this year as demand for railway services has waned. Windau also said to look for how GE plans to allocate its capital now that it has finally offloaded its Systemically Important Financial Institution label, or SIFI, which has long been a burdensome designation governing how GE manages its finances in the wake of the 2008 financial crisis.
