Gas Prices Continue to Fall; Cheapest in Charleston, Highest in LA

The average gas price in the U.S. has dropped by 10 cents over the past two weeks according to the latest Lundberg survey, with prices falling to roughly $2.24 a gallon. Due to growing inventories of Texas Crude across the country, gasoline has plunged 62 cents per gallon over the last five months. Analysts predict that the slide in prices could end if oil stays at its current price levels. Charleston in South Carolina currently has the cheapest prices in the Southern states, where residents can fill up for $1.85 per gallon. Higher prices at the pump can be found on the West coast with gas costing $2.87 in Los Angeles. Oil prices were also down on Monday as storage sites filled up, leaving cargo ships circling around ports in order to buy time.
