Former New England Patriots Player Talks About Life in Business

Transitioning to any new job can be difficult, and it's perhaps even tougher for professional sports players, whose careers can be short. One former NFL player, Donald Thomas, found that lessons learned on the gridiron helped him launch a new career.

Thomas  played for several teams, including the New England Patriots, and bought a Rita's Ice franchise after leaving the sport. Thomas says the discipline he learned as a player helped him navigate the business world, and that football also taught him about the importance of being a team player.

And yes, Thomas will be cheering on his former team, the Patriots, during this weekend's Super Bowl.
