Ballmer stressed the importance of core competency, or the defining capability that distinguishes a company or CEO from their competitors. In addition, he said CEOs like Apple's (AAPL) - Get Report Steve Jobs, with his pioneering of the Apple Macbook and iPhone series, stand out by proving they and their companies can be more than a "single-trick pony."
