Ford announced it will be adding 1,200 more jobs at its Kansas City Assembly Plant after the company exceeded a pledge it made three years ago to hire 12,000 workers by 2015. Since then, it's hired more than 14,000. Joe Hinrichs, head of the Americas division at Ford, explains the company is betting on its new Transit van, which he says will give the automaker more opportunities to serve customers in the van market. Hinrichs also reveals Ford's plans to incorporate smart technology and connectivity in its vehicles, the company's expectations about the economy and consumer demand for autos, as well as its outlook on future hiring.
