Shares of Ford (F) - Get Report, the number two auto maker, were slightly higher Tuesday, after the company said in a regulatory filing that it will raise $2.8 billion in new long-term financing. Ford is re-entering the debt market after nearly four years. The company says it plans to use the proceeds to fund investment in new automotive technologies and for general corporate purposes. The automaker expects to expand its business into other technologies like self-driving cars and a van-shuttling service.
