Ford's COO Mark Fields says the reinvention of the F-150 will make it the "toughest, smartest and most capable" pickup truck the automaker has ever built. Fields says the truck will be 700 pounds lighter than its predecessor, because of an all-new aluminum body, and should hit showrooms near the end of 2014. As for the overall auto sector, Fields says the industry could sell between 16-17M vehicles this year because of pent-up demand, replacement purchases and low interest rates. Ford also says it expects to add 11,000 jobs in 2014, about 5,000 of those will be in the United States. TheStreet's Ruben Ramirez spoke with Fields at the 2014 Detroit Auto show.
