Ford's President of the Americas Joe Hinrichs says demand for SUVs is exceeding supply here in the U.S. and that lower gas prices and increasing demand for sport utility vehicles should bode well for the launch of the new Ford Edge in the spring and the new Ford Explorer in the summer. Hinrichs says, 'We've built all the Escape's Edges, Explorers and Expeditions we could build and we're selling them all which is a great problem to have.' Apart from SUVs, Hinrichs says the Ford Fusion, which is the automaker's best selling car, is continuing to set records and he expects that growth to continue in 2015, albeit at a slightly slower pace. Looking out to 2015, Hinrichs says some of the biggest challenges for the auto industry will be industry growth and whether it can continue the upward trend and currency issues and inflation in South America. TheStreet's Ruben Ramirez reports from Los Angeles.
