Ford, Fiat Chrysler Sales Rise in June; GM and Toyota Sales Slip

A mixed picture for auto sales in June as automakers release their sales results.

Automakers released June sales on Friday. Ford Motor Company (F) - Get Report sold 240,109 vehicles during the month, a 6.4 percent year-over-year increase driven by a 7 percent rise in SUV sales. F-Series vehicles saw a 29 percent jump in sales. General Motors (GM) - Get Report sold 255,210 cars during the month, a drop of 1.6 percent year-over-year. The automaker did see single-digit growth in its Cadillac, Chevrolet and Buick divisions.
Fiat Chrysler's (FCAU) - Get Report June sales stood at 197,073 units, a 6.5 percent rise year-over-year. This was the automakers best June in over a decade. The strength came on the heels of a 17 percent increase in Jeep sales. Toyota (TM) - Get Report sold 198,257 vehicles during the month, a 5.6 percent decrease from June of 2015.
