For ADP Numbers, the Real Story in the Job Market Is You Could Be Getting a Raise
While ADP numbers missed forecasts, Friday's jobs report should still show healthy gains, according to one economist.
ADP (ADP) - Get Report says businesses added 153,000 new jobs in December -- below expectations -- but one economist says the labor market is still in good shape. Gus Faucher, deputy chief economist at PNC Financial Services, says for 2016, job growth averaged about 175,000 a month and he says that should continue in 2017. Faucher says the big issues for employers this year is they are having trouble finding workers as the labor market tightens. He projects Friday's monthly employment report will show an uptick in wage growth for that reason.
