Flu Season 2017 is Predicted to Be Bad

Evidence suggests the flu vaccine will be less effective than usual.

Did you get your flu shot? Officials are saying this year's flu season could be worse than usual, according to the Association of Health Care Journalists 

The U.S. predicts how flu season will go depending on how it already went in the Southern Hemisphere, and Australia had a pretty tough flu season this winter, which ended Aug. 31.

Evidence suggests the flu vaccine was less effective than usual as more adults and children seemed to get sick.

The 2016 U.S. flu season was characterized as moderate. The flu vaccine was about 42% effective, and more than 600,000 were hospitalized due to complications from the illness.
