Fitbit Facing Criminal Investigation Over Theft of Trade Secrets -- Report
The legal battle between Fitbit and Jawbone heats up.
Fitbit (FIT) - Get Report is under criminal investigation for allegedly stealing trade secrets from one of its rivals, Jawbone. Jawbone claims Fitbit poached its employees to learn about key trade secrets for making fitness devices, according to Bloomberg.
Fitbit says it's cooperating with the investigation to prove the allegations are without merit, and is seeking to get the case dismissed.
The two companies have been locked in legal battles since May 2015, when Jawbone alleged that Fitbit hired five Jawbone employees who took more than 350,000 confidential files.
