First Solar on Tuesday reported earnings of $1.10 a share on revenues of $950 million, jumping almost $200 million from the fourth quarter of 2013 and beating analysts' estimates. The sequential increase in net sales was mostly due to one-time revenue it received from its Campo Verde project. CEO Jim Hughes says the company made significant progress in new bookings, but rivals SunPower and SolarCity have taken stronger steps into the residential solar market.
