Fiat Chrysler Stock Tanks on Diesel Emission Accusations
Investors are dumping shares of Fiat Chrysler on word the EPA may accuse the company of using software that allowed it to exceed diesel emissions caps.
Fiat Chrysler (FCAU) - Get Report shares are getting slammed as it now looks to be caught up in the same kind of emission scandal that embroiled Volkswagen.The EPA is expected to say that Fiat used software that allowed it to exceed diesel emission caps in about 100,000 trucks and SUVs sold in the U.S. since 2014.
Fiat Chrysler told reporters it believes its vehicles meet EPA standards and it will contest any allegations. But investors are selling shares on worries about the company being hit with fines.
