Fiat and Chrysler will become one this Sunday. The man behind this historic hitch ride, Sergio Marchionne, will then begin counting his days at the helm of the London-based automaker, possibly for something better. Marchionne reportedly wants to retire from his current job at the end of 2018, after Fiat Chrysler completes its current five-year road map full of expansion plans. Marchionne, now 62, took charge of Fiat ten years ago. In a recent interview at the Balocco test track in Northern Italy, he said, 'I'll undoubtedly do something else. I am not going to do any more turnarounds. I'm done; let some of the young punks do it.' The new Fiat Chrysler will be listed on Monday on the NYSE and its equivalent in Milan, the Borsa Italiana.
