Newly-merged automaker Fiat Chrysler began trading on the New York Stock Exchange Monday under the ticker 'FCAU.' The combined company will offer a range of vehicles, from sports cars by Ferrari and Maserati to Ram pickups and Jeeps that compete against vehicles from General Motors and Ford. CEO Sergio Marchionne told reporters last week, 'As a car company, as a global producer of vehicles, I think we're fully equivalent to the other Detroit two.' Morningstar analyst Rich Hilgert said in a note, 'We think only investors willing to accept the risk of a turnaround company with a highly leveraged balance sheet, operating in an industry that is cyclical, capital-intense, and highly competitive, should consider owning the shares.'
