FedEx Plans to Go Carbon Neutral. Here's What That Means

FedEx (FDX) - Get Report is planning on going entirely green by 2040.

The Memphis-based parcel-delivery giant on Wednesday laid out plans to make its entire global parcel pickup and delivery fleet carbon neutral by 2040, and has designated an initial investment of more than $2 billion in vehicle electrification, sustainable energy and carbon sequestration to help it get there.

As part of the effort, FedEx also has pledged $100 million to Yale University to help establish the Yale Center for Natural Carbon Capture.
