Facebook Results Beat Street on Top & Bottom Lines, Mobile Spikes

Facebook posted third earnings of $0.43 a share on revenue of $3.2 million. Wall Street analysts were looking for earnings of $0.40 on sales of $3.12 million. Last year, the social media giant earned $0.25 a share on $2.02 billion in sales. As for details, daily active users were 864 million on average for September 2014, an increase of 19 percent year-over-year. Mobile active users were 703 million on average for September 2014, an increase of 39 percent. Monthly active users were 1.35 billion as of September 30, 2014, an increase of 14 percent since last year. TheStreet's Gregg Greenberg has details from New York.
