Facebook, Microsoft and Google Are Slamming Trump's Immigration Order

Some 97 tech companies -- including Facebook, Microsoft, Google and Netflix -- joined a legal brief opposing President Donald Trump's recent immigration ban.

Some 97 technology companies, including Facebook (FB) - Get Report , Microsoft (MSFT) - Get Report , Google (GOOGL) - Get Report and Netflix (NFLX) - Get Report , among others, joined a legal brief opposing President Donald Trump's recent immigration order, which blocked visas for citizens of seven majority-Muslim countries.

"The Order effects a sudden shift in the rules governing entry into the United States, and is inflicting substantial harm on U.S. companies," the companies said.

A Federal judge in Seattle threw out Trump's executive order, a decision the Department of Justice is appealing.

"It's not super surprising these technology companies would do this," said TheStreet's politics writer, Emily Stewart.
