Facebook Adds 'Donate' Button to Help Battle Ebola Epidemic

Facebook is adding a 'donate' button to encourage user involvement in the battle against Ebola. The new addition will make it easier to donate to Ebola charities fighting the epidemic in West Africa. The donate button can be used globally and will be linked to 3 nonprofit organizations working directly on the ground. The social media giant is also providing free internet for aid workers and patients in Africa by deploying 100 satellite communication terminals in affected areas. The new schemes follow a $25 million donation last month from Facebook CEO and his wife Priscilla to aid the Ebola response. The disease has now killed nearly 5,000 people.
