Celebrating Cinco de Mayo will be more expensive as restaurant promotions are stingier than they were last year. Fast-casual Mexican joint Chipotle says it won't even celebrate the holiday.
Celebrating Cinco de Mayo will be more expensive this year than last year as many of the main ingredients for fun have gone up in cost. The cost of limes went up because of problems in Mexico, and the cost of avocados went up when this year's crop produced less than last year's crop. Also, increased demand for avocados has driven the prices higher. Restaurant promotions are stingier than they were last year, and fast-casual Mexican joint Chipotle says it won't even celebrate the holiday.
