America’s mid-market executives are increasingly pessimistic about an economic breakout taking place this year. According to a new survey by Deloitte LLP, 29 percent of mid-market executives believe that the economy will not grow in excess of 2 percent over the next 12 months - the highest mark since spring 2014. The report “America’s Economic Engine” marks the fifth anniversary of Deloitte’s survey on mid-market executives and highlights the roadblocks that they feel affect their business operations, investments, and long-term growth strategies. 'In context though I think it’s important to note that over half do expect the economy to grow 2 percent or better,' said D. Roger Nanney, vice chairman at Deloitte LLP.
