President Obama is expected to nominate former Procter & Gamble chief executive Bob McDonald as the new head of the Department of Veterans Affairs. McDonald was at Procter & Gamble for 33 years before resigning in May 2013. He also has a military background, having graduated in the top 2% of his class at the U.S. Military Academy in 1975 and serving as a captain in the Army. He currently is chairman of Cintrifuse, an initiative that supports start-ups in the Cincinnati region. His nomination comes after an interval review of the Department of Veterans Affairs found the agency to be battling a "corrosive culture" of distrust, poor resources and delays in medical care.
