The European Union and Mexico are kicking trade talks into high gear, amid tough rhetoric from President Donald Trump.
"They actually have a trade deal that goes back to 2000, and last year they agreed to renegotiate it," said TheStreet's politics writer Emily Stewart. "This morning they announced they are picking up the pace a little bit and will be meeting twice in the first half of the year."
The talks could be a reaction to President Trump's harsh trade rhetoric.
