European markets rose on Tuesday as investors welcomed news of a climb in German investor confidence. In Copenhagen, Novozymes A/S rose after the Danish biotech firm reported better than expected fourth-quarter earnings and said it’s positive for 2015. Among decliners, consumer goods giant Unilever said it expects a flat 2015 amid weak consumer demand and slowing emerging markets. But the company has high hopes for its recent acquisition of Minneapolis-based Talenti Gelto e Sorbetto as it continues to innovate in the ice-cream space. German computer software maker SAP was also down after downgrading its medium-term outlook, as its push into cloud-based software and the impact of its $8.3 billion acquisition of Bellevue, Wash.-based Concur Technologies Inc. eats into profits.
