European stock indices rise, with the biggest gains in southern Europe, amid renewed optimism that Greece, its international creditors and euro-zone leaders will agree on a solution to the country’s debt crisis. Vivendi gets the opportunity to make a swift exit from Numericable –SFR after the cable and wireless services company and parent Altice offer $4.5 billion for the media group’s 20% stake, and in Australian Japan Post looks set to make history with a generously priced $6.3 billion takeover deal for logistics company Toll Holdings.
