The big themes investors should jump on in 2014 are Europe's recovery, increased global M&A, and another big year for biotech and technology stocks, says Greg Sarian, managing director at HighTower Advisors. Sarian says Angela Merkel's re-election last year provides additional stability to the European economy which has already seen growth in auto and retail sales. As for the boom in M&A, Sarian says the big beneficiaries will be small cap stocks, especially biotechs, and not necessarily the investment banks.
