Energizer Seeking to Break Out With New Recycled Batteries

Energizer expects to break out with its new AA battery made with recycled batteries, said the company's CMO Michelle Atkinson. Atkinson added that its new Energizer EcoAdvanced battery line will have less impact on the planet because it lasts longer than other alkaline batteries and thus, consumers will use fewer batteries. She said this is the first step in creating value for recycled battery materials which until today had little use or economic value. Atkinson said expanded processing will lead to a higher percent of recycled battery material in Energizer EcoAdvanced and across Energizer’s battery portfolio.
