Thomas Eric Duncan, the man who developed Ebola symptoms in Dallas, reportedly misstated his health background when he left Liberia for the U.S. last month. He declared that he had not been in contact with anyone who could possibly have Ebola in the previous 21 days, which is the maximum incubation period for the virus. According to border authority in Monrovia, Liberia, that declaration turned out to be false. A young woman who lived next to him died of Ebola three days before he left the country. Liberia Airport Authority chairman Binyah Kesselly said if Duncan had answered the questionnaires truthfully, he wouldn't have been allowed to fly and would have been sent to additional screenings immediately. In Texas, contractors are dealing with Duncan's personal belongings, including destroying the bed sheets he used. People who came in contact with him in the Dallas area are going through Ebola screening. Nobody has tested positive yet. Health officials have also ordered four of his close family members to stay in their home.
