Stocks are looking to recover from Monday's losses as investors keep a close eye on pro-democracy protests in Hong Kong. Single-family home prices rose in July but came in under expectations. The S&P Case/Shiller Index rose 6.7% but expectations were for an increase of 7.5%. On a seasonally adjusted monthly basis, prices fell 0.5% versus a flat reading forecast. Walgreen (WAG) reported its quarterly earnings before the bell matching estimates. The largest U.S. drugstores chain posted earnings of $0.74 a share and said revenue for its fiscal year sales grew to a record $76.4 billion. eBay (EBAY) is sharply higher in early trading after saying it will split its PayPal business to become two publicly listed companies. This transaction is expected to be completed in the second half of 2015.
