eBay posted third quarter earnings of $0.68 a share ex-items on revenue of $4.35 billion. Wall Street analysts were looking for $0.67 on sales of $4.37 billion. Last year, the online auctioneer earned $0.64 per share on revenue of $3.89 billion. As for details, eBay’s enabled commerce volume or ECV increased 27% in the third quarter to $63 billion. Mobile ECV advanced 67% to $14 billion representing 21% of volume. eBay’s mobile downloads since inception exceeded 282 million, adding 7.3 million new customers in the quarter. PayPal gained 4.4 million new active registered accounts to end the quarter at 157 million, up 14%. TheStreet's Gregg Greenberg has details from New York.
