EA Aims For Global Digital Domination With Subscription Service
Electronic Arts plans to expand its Netflix-style subscription service on a global scale.
Electronic Arts plans to expand its Netflix-style subscription service on a global scale. The games publisher, author of popular titles 'Battlefield' and 'Madden NFL', has rolled out EA Access in North America, Australasia and Western Europe, though COO Peter Moore notes the company's goal is to expand far wider into any market with demand. Currently, EA Access is only available to Microsoft Xbox users. Last month, Sony turned down integration of the service on its PlaysStation 4, likely due to conflict with its own subscription program PlayStation Now, a service which is currently in its beta testing stage. TheStreet's Keris Lahiff reports from New York.
