Dow Closes Above 18,000 for First Time Since July
The Dow Jones Industrial Average closed above 18,000 on Monday for the first tine since July 2015, as investors downplayed the odds that a slowdown in global growth could impact U.S. markets. Plus, blood testing company Theranos said its the subject of a probe from the SEC and a criminal investigation from the U.S. Attorney's office, as questions continue to surface about how effective its products are. Meanwhile, Anheuser-Busch InBev (BUD) - Get Report will sell SAB's Peroni brand, among other beverages, to Asahi, a Japan-based brewery for $2.9 billion, as it looks to move forward with its $100 billion merger with SABMiller. Investors are also gearing up for quarterly results from Yahoo! (YHOO) and Intel (INTC) - Get Report , released after the markets close. TheStreet's Scott Gamm reports from the Nasdaq.
