2018 isn't even half over, but the forward looking nature of markets will soon start factoring in earnings expectations for 2019.

John Eade, CEO of Argus Research, expects double-digit earnings growth in 2019, in addition to 2018.

Eade's year-end target on the S&P 500 is at 3,000, a 10.6% gain from its current level of 2,711.

Meanwhile, Eade was pleased with Macy's (M) latest results, which posted same store sales growth of 4.2%, topping estimates of 1.4%.
