Discount retailers Dollar Tree (DLTR) - Get Report and Walmart (WMT) - Get Report report earnings on Thursday. Dollar Tree is expected to report same-store sales of 2.2 percent, which would be the strongest in the discount group, according to Jharonne Martis, Director of Consumer Research at Thomson Reuters. Martis says Walmart's earnings growth will continue to be challenged by decelerating sales and competition online. But Martis says grocery sales continue to be one bright spot for Walmart. Gap (GPS) - Get Report will also report results, which are expected to be disappointing. TheStreet's Rhonda Schaffler reports from Wall Street.
