Disney Wows Fans with Plans of 'Star Wars' Attractions at Theme Parks
Disney (DIS) wows fans with plans of "Star Wars' attractions at its existing theme parks in California and Florida. Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger announced what he called 'jaw-dropping' plans to bring the franchise attractions to the parks in 14 acre 'lands' dedicates to the intergalactic movies at DisneyWorld in Florida and Disneyland in California. The 'Star Wars' world is yet to be named and executives say it will be inhabited by humanoids, aliens, and droids. Iger says every restaurant and store will be operated by local inhabitants, making each experience deeply immersive. Disney has been aggressively investing in its overseas theme parks, particularly Shanghai Disneyland. That left an opening for Universal Studios to boost its theme parks in the United States, creating more competition for Disney.
