Thanks to the very popular release of "Frozen 2," Disney now has had six movies surpass a billion dollars in the box office in 2019 alone.
So, let's take a look at the biggest Disney releases so far this year (keep in mind, Disney is releasing "Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker" on Dec. 20, which could be yet another billion-dollar movie for Disney).
This should come as no surprise.
In fact, Avengers is the highest-grossing box office movie of all time after it brought in over $2 billion.
Let's be a little more clear: "Avengers: Endgame" came in at $2.79 billion.
"The Lion King"
The Lion King raked in over a billion when it was released back in July.
It came in second after "Avengers: Endgame" with $1.6 billion.
"Captain Marvel" trailed in behind "The Lion King" with $1.1 billion.
"Toy Story 4"
The movie, starring Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, came in fourth, grossing $1.074 billion.
What's more? This is only the fourth Pixar movie to cross the billion-dollar mark, joining movies such as "Finding Dory," "Incredibles 2," and its very own "Toy Story 3."
"Aladdin" trailed behind "Toy Story 4," grossing $1.051 billion.
And Then There Was..."Frozen 2"
"Frozen 2" has officially joined the billion-dollar box office club at Disney.
The much-anticipated sequel to "Frozen" has grossed $366.5 million domestically and $666 million internationally for a worldwide gross of $1.032 billion, according to reports. The film first hit theaters on the weekend before Thanksgiving.
