Disney, Economic Data: What to Watch on Wall Street November 6th
On Thursday, November 6th we watch worldwide entertainment company, The Walt Disney Co. (DIS), as it reports its fiscal fourth quarter results after the market closes. Disney-owned sports network ESPN gave a rare negative note last quarter in large part due to skyrocketing costs in sports rights as well as limited growth of affiliate revenue. The company has said that should return to its normal high-single digit rate. Investors will be watching closely for the rebound. The stock has been climbing, getting a boost by the hit animated movie 'Frozen' for the past two quarters. Analysts say shares could hit new highs when Disney releases its earnings on Thursday. Also, look for quarterly results from drug maker AstraZeneca (AZN) and DirecTV (DTV), both reporting before the opening bell. On the economic calendar, look for weekly jobless claims as well as non-farm productivity figures and unit labor costs for the third quarter.
