The search engine provider is leading the field in the development of self-driving cars in China. Baidu is attempting to get the vehicles on the road in China by 2019.
"The police support technology and innovation of autonomous driving, but it should be conducted legally, safely and scientifically," said Beijing traffic police in a statement.
