Dan Dicker, senior energy contributor for Thestreet.com, talks with Stephanie Link, co-portfolio manager of Action Alerts Plus about the megacap oil companies. Dicker believes that the best value is to be found in the independent exploration and production companies, preferring the supermajors only for their steady dividends and safety. But out of those supermajors, both he and Link prefer Royal Dutch Shell, mostly because of their new CEO and his plans to reduce spending. With less spending on new potential production, both Dicker and Link see an increase in cash flow and a likely rise in the stock to bring Shell’s dividend in line with the other majors.
